What is MixingGPT?
MixingGPT is an AI-powered plugin that loads directly into your DAW. It's like having ChatGPT inside Logic Pro, Ableton, Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, or Reason — but fine-tuned specifically for mixing engineers and music producers.
Which DAWs are supported?
MixingGPT supports Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, and Reason. We provide AU, VST3, and AAX formats for both Mac and PC.
What makes MixingGPT different from ChatGPT?
Two main benefits: (1) It lives inside your DAW so you never break your workflow, and (2) it's fine-tuned on industry-standard resources, real-world projects, and top engineers' approaches — so you get specialized, reliable answers you can apply with confidence.
Can I upload images and audio?
Yes. On eligible paid plans you can upload screenshots for plugin help and audio files up to 5 minutes for mix analysis and feedback. Audio is billed by decoded duration — 8 credits per started minute — so short stem checks cost a fraction of a full critique.
What are AI Pills?
AI Pills are special codes you can redeem in the MixingGPT chat to unlock premium content like vocal chain presets, mix templates, and exclusive files inspired by industry-standard techniques. Studio plan subscribers get 10 AI Pills included monthly.
Does MixingGPT work offline?
MixingGPT requires an internet connection for AI processing. Your chat history is saved locally on your computer for easy access.
How is my audio data handled?
Audio files are uploaded to our servers for analysis but are not stored permanently. Your conversations are saved locally on your machine. We prioritize your privacy and security.
What's the difference between the plans?
MixingGPT uses one shared credit pool — chats, images, and audio analysis all draw from it. Free is 15 credits per week (concise text-only mixing help). Starter ($9/mo) is 75 credits/month with image and audio analysis (~9 min). Pro ($19/mo) is 200 credits/month (~25 min audio, ~5 full critiques). Studio ($49/mo) is 600 credits/month (~75 min audio, ~15 full critiques), with up to 1 month of unused credits rolling over, plus Studio Drops and Top Trending Techniques content.
What is a credit?
A credit is a single shared unit covering every action. 1 chat question = 1 credit. A web-enhanced answer = 2 credits. An image / screenshot analysis = 2 credits (the accompanying text question is included — you're not charged extra for the chat turn). Audio analysis = 8 credits per started minute (so a 30-second stem check is 8 credits, a 5-minute full critique is 40 credits). You'll see the exact cost on the upload chip before you hit send.
Do unused credits roll over?
Free credits reset each Monday and don't carry over. Starter and Pro reset on the 1st of each month. Studio rolls over up to one full month of unused credits, so a quiet month doesn't go to waste.
How do I install MixingGPT?
Once you receive access, download the installer for Mac or PC, run it, restart your DAW, and scan for new plugins. MixingGPT will then appear in your plugin list.
What are the system requirements?
Minimum: 4GB RAM (8GB recommended), 1GB disk space, internet connection. Supports Windows 10+ and macOS 11.0+, including Apple Silicon Macs.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Once billing is active on your account, you can cancel anytime and retain access through the end of the billing period.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes! We offer a 50% discount for students and educators. Contact support with proof of enrollment to qualify.
